This Privacy Policy explains how Agny ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website (agny.app) and services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and applicable global data protection laws including GDPR (EU/UK).
1. Information we collect
We collect:
- Account information — email, name, optional profile information you provide
- Usage data — mock attempts, scores, ELO ratings, time-on-platform, device/browser type, IP address (anonymized after 30 days)
- Payment information — processed by Razorpay (India) or Stripe (international); we do not store card details
- Communications — emails, support tickets, feedback you send us
- Cookies and similar technologies — for authentication, preferences, and basic analytics. We do not use third-party advertising trackers
2. How we use your information
- To provide and improve the Agny service
- To personalize your study experience and track your progress
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To communicate about your account, service updates, and (with your consent) educational content
- To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve our predictive models
- To comply with legal obligations
3. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
- Payment processors — Razorpay, Stripe (only for transaction processing)
- Cloud infrastructure providers — Cloudflare, Supabase (data hosting)
- AI providers — Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), only when needed to deliver tutor responses; user-identifying information is stripped before sending
- Legal authorities — when required by valid legal process
4. Data retention
We retain your account data while your account is active and for up to 12 months after deletion, unless required to keep it longer for legal reasons. Aggregate non-identifiable usage analytics may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated personal data
- Withdraw consent for non-essential communications
- Export your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India or your local supervisory authority

6. Children
Agny is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures: encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted data at rest, role-based access controls, and Supabase row-level security. No system is 100% secure; we report breaches to affected users within 72 hours where feasible.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed in India, the United States (via Cloudflare and AI providers), and the EU. We rely on standard contractual clauses for cross-border transfers where required.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email and a notice on the site at least 30 days before they take effect.
